COLLEGE STATION, Texas (November 17, 2023) – Washington State Swimming closed the Art Adamson Invite hosted by Texas A&M with seven more WSU Top-10 times, one school record and one win Friday evening.

"The Cougs swam tough today, really excited about how we closed the first half of the season. We ended the meet with seven more Top-10 times, one school record, one win and two NCAA qualifying times," Head Coach Matt Leach said. "One of the biggest highlights of the day was Makayla Poloni jumping into the 200 back and there were a number of other lifetime bests. It was a really great meet overall, we beat a Pac-12 Conference opponent Utah who also counted their diving points so I'm very proud and excited for us to carry this momentum into the second semester, really good week for the Cougs."

Senior Kiana Swain got things going placing sixth in the 200 back, beating her previous mark for the fifth-fastest time in WSU history while freshman Ariel Wang continued her impressive week with a 1:59.32 in the "B" final, the tenth-fastest 200 back time in program history. Freshman Madison Parker later placed fifth in the 100 free after posting a 49.43, good for the tenth-fastest time in WSU history.

Lundgren gave the Cougars a huge boost winning the 200 breast with a 2:09.37, good for an NCAA "B" time and just behind her own record of 2:08.33. Fellow sophomore Dori Hathazi placed fourth with a school-record 1:55.74 in the 200 fly, also good for an NCAA "B" time.

In the mile, freshman Mira Szimcsak continued her solid start as a Coug, recording a 16:38.18 for the fourth-fastest 1650 free time and fourth-fastest 1000 free time in program history. In the 200 back, senior Makayla Poloni posted a 1:59.17 for the tenth-fastest time in WSU history.

Washington State will next compete in January, hosting USC Jan. 20.
