Cougar Soccer Tabbed Fifth by Conference Coaches

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State women's soccer team was selected to finish fifth in the Pac-12 Conference Coaches' Preseason Poll, the Conference announced Monday.

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State women's soccer team was selected to finish fifth in the Pac-12 Conference Coaches' Preseason Poll, the Conference announced Monday.
 
The Cougs were selected in the top half of the conference for the fifth-straight season, falling behind the four California schools in the preseason ranking.
 
WSU returns four fifth-year seniors, while welcoming in 13 newcomers to the 2023 roster. Head Coach Todd Shulenberger enters his ninth season at the helm of the program, after breaking the school's all-time wins record last year. Senior Margie Detrizio returns to the frontline as a reigning Pac-12 All-Conference selection last fall, netting a team-best 11 goals and six assists.
 
Washington State begins its 2023 campaign Thursday, Aug. 17 against Eastern Washington. The Cougars will host the Eagles at Lower Soccer Field with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. The match will be a "WAZZU White Out" with free t-shirts to select early fans.
