Rowing heads to the Tar Heel State for the Lake Wheeler Invitational

RALEIGH, N.C – The Washington State women's rowing team is making a cross-country trip to North Carolina this weekend to compete in the Lake Wheeler Invitational. The two-day regatta will take place April 21-22 on Lake Wheeler.

RALEIGH, N.C – The Washington State women's rowing team is making a cross-country trip to North Carolina this weekend to compete in the Lake Wheeler Invitational. The two-day regatta will take place April 21-22 on Lake Wheeler.

Regatta Format
The Lake Wheeler Invitational is hosted by Duke and North Carolina. Teams will compete in two races on Friday with the morning slate scheduled to start at 7 a.m. PT, while the afternoon races get underway at 12 p.m. PT. Saturday's events get underway at 6 a.m. PT.

The Field
A total of 18 teams will be competing at the Lake Wheeler Invitational. Along with Washington State and hosts No. 14 Duke and North Carolina, No. 8 Penn, No. 9 Syracuse, No. 19 Iowa, Boston College, Boston University, Clemson, Georgetown, Navy, Alabama, Central Florida, Kansas, Louisville, Miami, Oklahoma, and Tennessee will be racing this weekend.

"The Cougs always travel well, so that is one thing I am not too worried about. The thing that we're most excited about is that we all like doing new things and this is a regatta that we've never raced before. It's a really strong field with 18 teams from across the country, several of which are in the top 20. I think that it's going to be a really good measure for what we've learned over the last few weeks."

Streaming Information
The Lake Wheeler Invitational will be streamed live on the ACC Network through ESPN+. The regatta will also stream live for free on YouTube.
