Cougars Post Top Times in Crimson and Gray Intrasquad

PULLMAN, Washington (September 30, 2022) – Washington State Women's Swimming opened the season with its Crimson and Gray scrimmage and saw team White claimed 11 of the 19 races to beat team Gray and team Black at Gibb Pool Friday.

Several underclassmen stood out during their first meet in the pool with Freshman Kirsten De Goede winning five races, Freshman Emily Lundgren also added four wins, while Freshman Dori Hathazi broke the Gibb Pool Record in the 200 Fly. Lundgreen also posted the sixth fastest 200 breast time in program history. Hathazi broke the 200 fly record previously held by fellow Hungarian three-time gold medalist, Katinka Hosszú's, who set the record in 2011 while swimming for USC.

Senior Captain Jewel Springer also stood out with a personal best in the 200 fly, improving her own top 10 time in the event and later won the 100 IM.

Sophomore Noelle Harvey posted a win in the 200 back, sophomore Selena Duran won in the 100 back and Freshman Anna Rauchholz won the 50 back.

The Cougars open the regular season next weekend at the Chick-Fil-A Invite in Fresno, Calif.
