"I think the team is ready to go," said head coach Jane LaRiviere. "We gear up for Pac-12's all season. Our expectation is to figure out how we can have the best race we can when it matters the most. Pac-12's will ultimately influence the NCAA Championship selection. The team has been training well and it seems like its been forever since we've been to Sacramento. We're pretty excited to get back there."
WSU has finished in the top-five in four of the last five conference championship regattas. The Cougars earned their best conference team finish in 2006, stroking to second place as a team. Washington State has finished third four times (2003, 2004, 2008, 2015). Three Cougar crews have garnered Pac-10/12 Champion honors (second varsity eight, 1995, 1996; novice eight, 2001). The varsity eight and varsity four boats' best finishes came in 2006, when both placed second.
The Pac-12 champions shall be the team with the most points as determined by the order of finish of the Pac-12 crews at the finals of the Pac-12 Rowing Championships in the women's varsity eight, women's second varsity eight, women's third varsity eight and women's varsity four races.
