PHOENIX (March 28, 2021) – Washington State dropped the series-finale to No. 16 Arizona State 9-0 at Phoenix Municipal Stadium Sunday afternoon.

The Cougars (12-8, 1-5 Pac-12) received hits from
Jacob McKeon and
Jack Smith. The Sun Devils improved to 15-5 overall and 4-2 in conference play after collecting 11 hits and received an impressive start from Justin Hall who worked into the seventh while striking out five.

ASU took advantage of a Cougar miscue and a couple perfectly placed hits just out of the reach from WSU infielders to push four runs across in the opening frame. WSU used a couple singles to put two runners on in the second but ASU ended the threat with a strikeout and a fielder's choice groundout.
