CORVALLIS, Ore. (March 20, 2021) – Washington State dropped a 10-3 contest to No. 18 Oregon State at Goss Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars (11-3) won Friday's opener 5-2 and head into Sunday's rubber game looking to claim their first series in Corvallis since 2009. Oregon State (12-4) scored single runs in the second and third innings before erupting for five runs in the fourth and finished the game with 13 hits.

Jacob McKeon had a pair of hits including a two-run homer, designated hitter
Tristan Peterson recorded a pair of hits including his team-leading eighth double and shortstop
Kodie Kolden homered in the eighth inning. First baseman
Kyle Manzardo walked twice to extend his on-base streak to 39 games, the second-longest streak in program history, trailing only Brady Everett's record of 42 set in 2005.

In the second, OSU struck first using a leadoff double, a wild pitch and a RBI-groundout to shortstop to take a 1-0 lead.

The Cougars threatened in the second inning, putting runners on second and third with one out but a pair of strikeouts ended the inning. WSU again put runners on second and third with one out in the third and later loaded the bases with two outs but couldn't push anything across.

OSU erupted for five runs in their half of the fourth inning, using five hits, a pair of walks and a wild pitch to push the lead to 7-0. The Beavers added another in the sixth on a balk.

Kolden put the Cougars on the board with a solo homer to left field to lead off the eighth. OSU built a 10-1 lead in the eighth but
Jacob McKeon hit a two-run homer to straight away centerfield in the WSU ninth.
