PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State baseball's Kodie Kolden and swimming's Chloe Larson have been named the Academic Services Student-Athletes of the Month for April 2021.

Cougar Baseball's starting shortstop, Kolden has excelled both on and off the diamond as the junior has posted a phenomenal 3.91 GPA as a Kinesiology major. His excellence in the classroom earned him a spot on the Pac-12 Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll as a sophomore in his first year eligible for the award. In addition he is a member of the AAT. On the field, Kolden is in the midst of a career year having posted a .321 average with two home runs and 27 RBI in 34 games played.

Not ony one of the top performers in the pool, Larson proved herself one of the top Cougars in the classroom as the senior posted a 3.75 GPA in Kinesiology with future plans to pursue a graduate degree in nursing. Her time in the classroom earned her conference all-academic honors in each of the last two seasons while also earning WSU Presidents Honor Roll recognition. When not in the classroom or in the pool, Larson is active within the WSU and Pullman community serving as a SAAC Rep and PAC counselor while participating in Coug Pals, Butches Bash, and KINES Club. In the pool, Larson saved the best for last with a historic senior season culminating with an individual Pac-12 Championship in the 50 Free, the first individual conference title in WSU program history. Her performance helped propel the Cougars to their highest team score in Pac-12 Championship history. In addition, Larson earned a trip to the NCAA Championships and most recently swam a 50 Free time of 25.26 mark, one of the fastest times for an American this year and a qualifying U.S. Olympic Trials Wave II time.

Each month Washington State Academic Services honors a male and female student-athlete that demonstrates commitment to academics while participating in their sport.
