LAS VEGAS – The accolades continue to roll in for Washington State women's basketball redshirt senior Borislava Hristova this week, as the forward was named to the media's All-Pac-12 team on Wednesday, March 4. The distinction comes one day after Hristova was named to the Pac-12 All-Conference squad as voted on by the league's coaches.
The 2019-20 All-Pac-12 media selection marks the fourth time in Hristova's career that she has earned an all-conference nod by the media members who cover the conference throughout the season. This is the third-straight all-conference media honor for the player known throughout the Pac-12 as Bobi Buckets. She also garnered an honorable mention nod, to go a long with an all-freshman selection, back during the 2015-16 campaign.
Hristova was once again one the most prolific scorers in the Pac-12 this season, as she spent nearly the entire year leading the leading the league in total points scored with 551, while ranking inside the top-three all season in points per game finishing at 18.4 points per contest. She concluded the 2019-20 regular season as the points leader in the Pac-12, while her points-per-game average was third-best in the conference.
The Varna, Bulgaria native became WSU's all-time leading scorer on Jan. 5 this season, as no basketball player in Washington State history on either the men's or women's side has scored more points than Bobi Buckets, as the forward's career point total of 2,250 puts her at No. 11 on the Pac-12 women's basketball all-time scoring list.
The forward ranked fourth in NCAA Division I in field goals made this season with 223, while her 492 field goal attempts led the Pac-12, and ranked ninth nationally. Hristova strung together the second-longest double-digit scoring streak by a senior in WSU history this season, as she has scored at least 10 points in each of her last 24 games entering this week's Pac-12 Tournament contest.
Washington State opens the 2020 Pac-12 Tournament this Thursday, March 5, as the No. 11 seed and will challenge No. 6 seed Oregon State in a first-round matchup in Las Vegas. Tip-off from the Mandalay Bay Events Center is set for 8:30 p.m. PT and will air live on the Pac-12 Network.
