PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University women's basketball team opens its final road trip of the 2019-20 season this Friday, Feb. 28, as the Cougars travel down to Eugene to take on the University of Oregon for a Pac-12 Conference matchup. Tip-off against the Ducks is set for 8 p.m. PT on the Pac-12 Networks Washington.

THE STARTING FIVE
-> Washington State heads down to Eugene looking to snap a season-long five-game losing streak. The Cougars come into Friday's matchup against the Ducks with an overall record of 11-17 and 4-12 in the Pac-12. Meanwhile, Oregon has already clinched at least a share of the Pac-12 women's basketball regular season title after knocking off Stanford in Maples Pavilion on Monday. The No. 3-ranked Ducks enter Friday with a 26-2 record on the year and a 15-1 mark in league play.
-> The Cougs trail the all-time series against the Ducks, 68-19. Washington State has dropped four-straight games to Oregon, as the last WSU victory over UO came on Jan. 1, 2017 with a 75-69 win at Matthew Knight Arena.
-> WSU has already played a school-record 12 games against ranked opponents this season, and they will add two more teams to that list this weekend when they travel to No. 3/3 Oregon and No. 17/18 Oregon State. The Cougars are 0-12 against ranked opponents this season, while they have dropped 34-straight games against teams in the Top-25. Washington State's current strength of schedule is 12th-best in NCAA Division I according to RealTimeRPI.com.
-> The Cougars have been one of the most consistent shooting teams in all of NCAA Division I this season. Washington State ranks inside the top-75 in the nation in field goal percentage (44th; 43.7%), free throw percentage (51st; 74.4%) and 3-point field goal percentage (75th; 33.7%).
-> The Cougs enter the final week of the regular season in 11th place in the Pac-12 standings. The Cougars are one game behind a two-way tie for ninth and two games behind a two-way tie for seventh. If things stay the same after this week's set of games, Washington State would earn the 11-seed in the 2020 Pac-12 Tournament and would open play in Las Vegas on March 5 at 8:30 p.m. PT against the No. 6-seed, which is currently being held by Oregon State.
LAST TIME OUT
Washington State closed out the 2019-20 home portion of its schedule last Sunday, Feb. 23, as the Cougars fell to USC, 66-60, on Senior Day at Beasley Coliseum.
The Cougs said good bye to a pair of spectacular seniors in Borislava Hristova and Chanelle Molina. The duo did not disappoint in their final appearance on the Palouse, as each posted a double-digit scoring performance. Molina led the charge with team-high 23 points, while Hrisotva chipped in 11 points.
HRISTOVA'S STREAK CONTINUES
Redshirt senior Borislava Hristova enters play on Friday having scored at least 10 points in each of her last 22 games. That stretch ties Hristova with Jeanne Eggart for the second-longest double-digit scoring streak by a senior in WSU history.
Jenni Ruff currently holds the longest double-digit scoring streak by a senior in Washington State history, as she scored 10-or-more points in 29 consecutive games during the 1995-96 season.
FINISHING STRONG
Freshman Bella Murekatete strung together a pair of strong performances this past weekend, as the post player pulled down 10 rebounds on Feb. 21 against UCLA, then followed that effort up with a 14-point performance against USC on Feb. 23. Over her last six games, Murekatete has averaged 7.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest.
CLOSING IN ON 1,000 MINUTES PLAYED
Senior Chanelle Molina needs to play just two more minutes to become second player in program history to post two seasons of 1,000-plus minutes played. Currently, Molina has tallied 998 minutes on the court this season, which comes off the heels of a program-record 1,131 minutes played during the 2018-19 campaign.
Alexys Swedlund is currently the only WSU player in program history to have two seasons of 1,000-plus minutes played. She tallied 1,007 minutes during the 2016-17 season, then played a career-high 1,009 minutes as a senior during the 2018-19 campaign.
500-PLUS POINTS FOR BOBI BUCKETS
Redshirt senior Borislava Hristova has collected 525 points so far during the 2019-20 season, which is the eighth-most points in a single season in Washington State women's basketball history. Hristova's 597 points scored last season is the sixth-most points scored in a single season at WSU, while her 490 points scored in 2015-16 is the 10th-most.
Hristova is the only player in WSU women's basketball history to have three seasons rank inside the top-10 of the Washington State single-season scoring list.
SCOUTING OREGON
The Ducks enter play on Friday with a share of the 2019-2020 Pac-12 Regular Season Championship, as Oregon holds a 15-1 record through 16 conference games. Overall on the year, the No. 3-ranked team in the nation boasting a 26-2 overall record.
Senior Sabrina Ionescu leads a high-potent Oregon offense that averages an NCAA Division I-best 85.8 points per game. Ionescu, who is the first player in NCAA Division I history to collect over 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 1,000 assists in her career, is averaging 17.3 points, 8.9 assists and 8.8 rebounds per game this season. The point guard comes into Friday's with eight triple-doubles on the year, and has posted a triple-double in each of her last two contests.
Senior Ruthy Hebard and junior Satou Sabally round out a trio of double-digit scorers for the Ducks. Hebard averages 16.9 points and 9.6 rebounds a game, while Sabally tallies 16.5 points per contest. The trio of Ionescu, Hebard and Sabally rank fourth, fifth and sixth in the Pac-12 in scoring coming into Friday's game.
The Ducks have been just as good defensively, as they are giving up only 57.6 points per game, which is the second-lowest points allowed average in the Pac-12. Opponents are shooting 37.4% against Oregon this season.
