PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State's women's basketball's Borislava Hristova and men's basketball's Jervae Robinson have been named the Academic Services Student- Athletes of the Month for January 2020.

A fifth-year senior, Borislava Hristova has proven herself one of the all-time greatest to ever wear the Crimson and Gray on the court while working a pair of degrees in the classroom in sport management and social science. In the classroom, Hristova finished her course work in sport management as she interned in the athletic communications office for the fall semester while also working to complete her work in social science. A native of Bulgaria, Hristova came to the WSU knowing little to no English and worked diligently to fight through the language barrier to establish herself both on and off the court as she earned a spot on the WSU Athletics All-Academic Team. On the court, Hristova has been the best in the history of WSU basketball as she became the school's leading scorer, in both women's and men's basketball, when she surpassed Isaac Fontain's record of 2003 points Jan. 11, 2020.

A senior in his second year at WSU after transferring from Otero Junior College last year, Jervae Robinson has sported a 3.05 GPA while working on his degree in social science. He has used his limited free time to be part of the Multicultural Conference Fundraiser, Dine with your Dean, Butch's Bash, as well as the non-profit Athletics and Beyond over the summer. He hopes to one day use his degree to help others in sports with his an interest in sport psychology. On the court, Robinson has been the Cougars' starting point guard helping lead WSU to historic wins in 2019-20 including a 72-61 win over No. 8 Oregon Jan. 16, 2020.

Each month Washington State Academic Services will honor a male and female student-athlete that demonstrates commitment to academics while participating in their sport.
