SAN FRANCISCO – Senior Borislava Hristova and Chanelle Molina added a bit more hardware to their collection by earning Pac-12 All-Conference honors on Tuesday, March 3, as the Pac-12 Conference offices released the All-Pac-12 selections as voted on by the league's coaches. Hristova was selected to the all-conference squad for a program-record fourth time, while Molina picked up an honorable mention nod on the all-conference and all-defensive teams for the second-consecutive year.
One of the most effective duos in all of the Pac-12 this season, Hristova and Molina scored a combined 980 points, making them the second-highest scoring set of teammates in the conference behind Oreogn's All-American duo of Sabrina Ionescu and Ruthy Hebard. Hristova averaged a team-best 18.4 points per game in the regular season, while Molina's 14.8 points per contest was the second-highest points per game average for the Cougs. No one in the Pac-12 logged more minutes on the court this season than the Cougar twosome, as Molina averaged a league-high 35.7 minutes per game, while Hristova was right behind her logging 34.2 minutes per contest.
Bobi Buckets strung together one of the most impressive senior seasons in Washington State history during the 2019-20 regular season en route to her fourth Pac-12 All-Conference selection, which sets a program record. The Varna, Bulgaria native became WSU's all-time leading scorer this season, as no basketball player in Washington State history on either the men's or women's side has scored more points than Hristova. The forward's career total of 2,250 points puts her at No. 11 on the Pac-12 women's basketball all-time scoring list, and she needs 28 more points to move into the top-10 all-time.
Hristova continued to display her scoring prowess in her final season with the Cougs by leading the Pac-12 in points scored with 551, which is also the 16th-highest point total in NCAA Division I this season. Bobi Buckets' 18.4 points per game was the third-highest scoring average in the Pac-12. The forward was also fourth in NCAA Division I in field goals made this season with 223, while her 492 field goal attempts led the Pac-12 and ranked ninth nationally. Hristova has strung together the second-longest double-digit scoring streak by a senior in WSU history this season, as she has scored at least 10 points in each of the last 24 games entering this week's Pac-12 Tournament. She registered 20-or-more points in 13 games this season, which is the second-most games of 20-or-more points collected by a senior in WSU history. Hristova tallied a season-high 32 points on Jan. 31 in Beasley Coliseum against Cal and collected a team-best three double-doubles.
For Molina, the 2019-20 All-Pac-12 honorable mention selection marks the second-straight year that the point guard has earned the distinction. The do-it-all guard led the Cougars in assists (4.2 apg) and rebounds (6.2 rpg), while she finished second on the team in scoring at 14.8 points per game, which was the 11th-highest per game average in the Pac-12 this season. Molina led the conference in minutes play at 1,034 minutes, despite missing one full game this season and her 4.2 assists per game was the eighth-highest per-game-average in the conference in 2019-20. The guard's 56 makes from the 3-point line was also the seventh-most in the Pac-12. Molina registered seven games with 20-or-more points this season, with a season-best 28 points coming at Cal on Jan. 5, while she also collected a pair of double-doubles at Miami (17 pts, 13 reb) and at home against California (21 pts, 11 reb).
In addition to her all-conference honorable mention nod, Molina was also selected to the All-Pac-12 Defensive Team, pulling in an honorable mention selection as well. The 5-9 guard, who matched up against some of the best scorers in the conference all season on the defensive end, finished tied for 10th in the Pac-12 in defensive rebounds per game at 4.6.
