PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University volleyball program finalized the 2019 schedule and the Cougars will have 12 matches televised this fall, the Pac-12 Networks announced Monday.
 
Jen Greeny begins her ninth season as head coach at WSU. The Cougars will return five letterwinners back from the 2018 squad that advanced to the NCAA Championship Sweet Sixteen, the third consecutive year the Cougars progressed to at least the second round of play. Washington State will be anchored by three seniors during 2019 in All-American Jocelyn Urias, along with Alexis Dirige, and Ashley Brown.

WSU's non-conference schedule includes one team that played in the 2018 NCAA Championship in Stony Brook. Before the Pac-12 Conference action begins, the Cougars meet three teams with RPIs in the top 75 nationally from a season ago. Five total non-conference opponents finished 2018 with RPIs in the top 100 as well.
 
Washington State will open the 2019 volleyball season Aug. 30 and 31 at Harrisonburg, Virginia taking on James Madison, Iowa, and Stony Brook before heading to Portland, Ore., the following weekend to take on Portland, Utah State, and Idaho. WSU returns to the Palouse for the Cougar Challenge tournament, held inside Bohler Gym, Sept. 13-14, hosting teams from Idaho State, UT-Arlington, and Liberty. The preconference schedule wraps up Sept. 20-21, at Edinburg, Texas, for a tournament taking on Houston Baptist, Texas Southern, and the host team, Texas-Rio Grande Valley.
 
It will be another year of strong competition in the Pac-12 Conference which had eight members compete in the 2018 NCAA Championship tournament. WSU's opening Pac-12 match for the 2019 season will be at home inside Bohler Gym against cross-state rival Washington, Wednesday, Sept. 25, with the 5:30 p.m. contest to be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks. The Cougars will have Friday/Sunday home volleyball matches during the home football weekends of Oct. 19, Nov. 16, and will wrap up the 2019 season on the road against Washington as well.
