Cougars Continue at Silverado Showdown

SILICON VALLEY, Calif. – The women's golf team completed the second day of the Silverado Showdown, dropping into 16th place as a team with an overall score of 617(+41) through the first two rounds. The Cougars sit ahead of UNLV and San Francisco who went 619(+43) and 621(+45), respectively. WSU and the rest of the field trail behind Northwestern, whose team carded an overall even-par, 576, going into the clubhouse.
Leading the way for the Cougars is Madison Odiorne. Odiorne sits just outside the top-25, carding a 77(+5) on the second day to tie for 26th. The Bend, Ore. native put together four birdies on the second day of play. Behind Odiorne, junior Marie Lund-Hansen made her way up the leaderboard, improving her score to an overall eight-over, 152. Lund-Hansen carded a three-over, 75, during the second round while putting together 23 pars and three birdies.
Individually, Brooke Riley of Northwestern continues to lead the field, carding a four-under, 140, through two rounds of play. Riley sits two strokes ahead of second place Stephanie Lau from Northwestern.
The Cougars and the rest of the field will take to the green Tuesday, April 9 for the final day of the Silverado Showdown.
