THIS WEEK
The Washington State women's golf team, fresh off its best finish of the season, heads to Fairfax, Calif. to take part in the Juli Inkster Invitational. The two day event is co-hosted by San Francisco and San Jose State at the Meadow Club, a par-72, 6,1757 yard course. Teams will play 36 holes Monday, March 18, followed by a final 18 holes Tuesday, March 19. WSU will play alongside of Sacramento State and Tulsa on day one.

THE FIELD
The 12 team tournament will feature the likes of: Boise State, Cal State Fullerton, No. 47 California, Minnesota, Nevada, No. 26 Pepperdine, Rutgers, Sacramento State, San Francisco, No. 32 San José State, Tulsa, and the Cougars

REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE
The Cougars will send six golfers to the tournament. Leading the way for WSU is junior Marie Lund-Hansen who enters the tournament riding high after a second place finish a week prior. Behind the junior, senior Madison Odiorne, freshman Amy Chu, redshirt-sophomore Emily Baumgart, and freshman Darcy Habgood round out the Cougars' scoring five for the tournament. Junior Elodie Bridenne will play as an unattached individual.

LAST TIME ON THE GREEN
Led by the play of junior Marie Lund-Hansen, Washington State women's golf put together an impressive showing at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, finishing the tournament with its highest placing this season. The Cougars carded a 910(+46) to finish fifth, two strokes above Gonzaga. Lund-Hansen had an outstanding performance for the Cougars, equaling her best career finish, tying for the silver medal. The Denmark native scored a two-over, 74, in the final round to bring her overall score to a three-over, 219. Her score was tied with Briggette Dunn from SMU. Lund-Hansen went three-under on par-5s and shot for seven birdies. The second place finish tied her top mark from last season when the then-sophomore just missed her first collegiate title at the Ron Moore Invitational during the fall season.

COACHING STAFF
The team is led by tenth-year head coach Kelli Kamimura, who led the women's golf team to eleven program records, a tournament title, and an individual NCAA berth in the 2017-18 season. WSU alumna Emma Betland is in her fourth season as an assistant coach. Betland golfed at WSU from 2010-2013.
