Points in the Paint do in the Cougs in Boulder

WSU saw their mini-win streak come to an end with a loss to the Buffaloes.

In Case You Missed It ...
BOULDER, Colo. –
A tough night at elevation put an end to Washington State's (9-17, 4-11) mini-winning streak as Colorado (12-14, 2-13) pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 72-61 win in Boulder Friday night. Throughout the night the Cougars never looked quite like the high flying offense of the past two contests as their shots were just off the mark. Despite the offensive woes the Cougs found themselves down just three heading into the fourth quarter, but a six-minute field goal drought ended any hopes of a comeback for WSU. While the Cougs shots were off the mark Colorado took advantage of the glass to keep possessions alive while also bullying WSU in the paint to convert points at the rim. In the end the Buffs outscored the Cougs 15-7 in the fourth quarter with eight of the 15 points coming in the lane.

Coach Ethridge Quote of the Game
"Well we just got outplayed. I don't even know what to say other than I am really disappointed in our effort. We were terrible on the defensive end. We let them score in the paint. We didn't rebound. We didn't run offense."
