PULLMAN Wash. ā It was another day of personal best times and first place finishes for the Cougars. At the end of day one of the double dual meet WSU leads Colorado State University and behind University of Wyoming but not by much.
The WSU sophomore,
Lauren Burckel continued the impressive trend of notching personal times by shaving close to two seconds off her time in the 200 IM and taking first overall in the event with the reliable junior,
Taylor McCoy coming in a close second.
In the very next event freshman,
Kate Laderoute shaved one second off of her personal best time in the 100 back landing her in second place as well as a second place finish to start the day in 200 medley relay with Burckel,
Emily Barrier and
Chloe Larson. Ā
Continuing with the winning theme junior,
Mackenzie Duarte won the 200 breast with Burckel coming in second place. The Cougars had a strong finish in the 400 free relay notching a second place win to end the day on a high note.
"Day 1 of our double dual meet against Wyoming and Colorado State was filled with in season best times dropping, and great energy from the girls" said Coach
