SAN FRANCISCO  Washington State's Magda Jehlářová was selected as the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 3 as announced by the Pac-12 Conference office Monday.

The middle from Prerov, Czech Republic picked up her second-career weekly conference honor, having previously earned defensive player of the week earlier this season and this is Washington State's seventh all-time freshman of the week.

Jehlářová was pivotal in matches against No.25 UCLA and USC as the Cougars went 1-1 overall over the weekend inside Bohler Gym. Magda posted stats of 20 kills, a .429 hitting percentage, and 2.86 kills per set on offensive to power WSU's attack. She went on to record 10 total blocks, and 1.43 blocks per set through two matches on defense as well. She also leads the Pac-12 in total blocks (132), and blocks per set (1.53).

The freshman looked dominate in the win over USC Sunday, totaling a team-high 13 kills, six blocks and hitting .455 overall. The 3-1 win for WSU completed the season sweep of the Trojans, with the last occurring back in 1986 as well.

The Cougars return to action next, Thursday, Nov. 7 as WSU will travel to Corvallis, Ore. to take on the Beavers of Oregon State with first serve scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
