LAST TIME OUT
WASHINGTON STATE 72 - OMAHA 61 | Nov. 17, 2019 | LEAVEY CENTER

The Cougs returned home and got back on track with a 72-61 win over Idaho State. The win was WSU's second-straight at home in 2019. CJ Elleby led the way with a 23 point, 8 rebound, 7 steal effort while Isaac Bonton chipped in 15 points and 4 assists and Jeff Pollard added 11 points and 6 rebounds. Defensively, the Cougs forced 20 turnovers led by Elleby's 7 steals, one shy of WSU's single-game record of 8 last done in 1999.

THE TURNOVER GAME
Entering the week the Cougs remain one of the best at taking care of the ball with just 24 turnovers in three games and 8.0 per game the fewest in the Pac-12 and ranking 3rd and 2nd nationally, respectively.
On the other end the Cougs have forced 17.7 turnovers per game thanks to 10.3 steals per contest, second best in the Pac-12 and 32nd nationally.
Individually, CJ Elleby leads the way defensively as the sophomore has nabbed 11 steals, 3.67 per game which ranks 1st among Pac-12 players and 8th nationally. Jaylen Shead (2.33 spg) and Jervae Robinson (2.00 rpg) both rank in the top-12  in the conference.

BONTON ADJUSTING EARLY
Transferring in to WSU from Casper College, junior Isaac Bonton has made himself right at home as the scoring guard has posted 15.3 ppg through his first three contests. Along with CJ Elleby, Bonton is the only Coug to score in double-figures in each game while leading the team in scoring at Santa Clara with 19 points. Bonton has done his damage getting to the basket and to the line where he is 11-of-17 from the stripe. The shooter has yet to find his groove from deep (1-of-15) which is a scary thought for opponents
In addition to his own scoring, Bonton leads the team with 12 assists, 4.0 per contest.
