GAME INFORMATION - AT SANTA CLARA
The Cougs hit the road for the first time in the new year with a trip to Santa Clara Tuesday. The two teams met last year in Spokane (a technical home game for WSU) with the Broncos coming out on top 79-71. The Cougs were without star

Marvin Cannon led the way with 19 points a piece. Santa Clara enters the matchup Tuesday night having won twice at home to begin the year with games against Santa Cruz and Cal Poly. Wake Forest transfer DJ Mitchell leads the attack with 18.0 ppg while Tahj Eaddy has chipped in 11.5 ppg. Eaddy led the Broncos in last year's meeting with 16 points and eight rebounds.
LAST TIME OUT
Washington State 85 - Seattle U 54 | Nov. 7, 2019 | Beasley Coliseum
The Cougs opened the 2019-20 season in dominant fashion downing Seattle U 85-54 at home. WSU hit its first five shots of the game and ran out to a 14-4 lead, never looking back en route to a 31-point win, the largest margin of victory for a WSU head coach in his debut in modern basketball history.
CJ Elleby led the way with a career-high 27 points in 30 minutes of action including a 14-point first half, tying his career best half. Despite an average shooting night the Cougs dominated thanks to just three turnovers and a +11 rebound advantage on the glass.
A DEBUT FOR THE AGES
Head Coach
Kyle Smith made an immediate impact on the sidelines for the Cougars as the first year head coach had a debut for the ages leading his squad to an 85-54 win over Seattle U, Nov. 7, in his inaugural game at WSU. The 31-point win marked the largest margin of victory in the modern era for a Coug head coach in his debut. The debut was the second biggest win for a freshman head coach trailing only legendary head coach Jack Friel's 44-point win in his debut against Lewiston State (62-18) in 1928.
