STANFORD, Calif. – Washington State's women's golf team held its own after the second day of the Stanford Intercollegiate against a tough field at the par-71, 6,195-yard Stanford Golf Course. The Cougars finished the round in a tie for eighth place against five of the nation's top-10 teams
As the second round concluded, freshman
Jiye Ham lead the way for the Cougars as she moved up the leaderboard to sit in a tie for 33rd with a total score of 146 (+4). Ham shot a 72 (+1) in the second round, hitting four birdies on the day. Ham started the day strong, carding two birdies on the front nine before marking the turn. She continued to play strong through the back nine as she shot another two birdies. One stroke behind Ham was sophomore
Darcy Habgood who carded a 71 (E), a team best, on the day. Habgood made a small run at the end of the day on the back nine where she would play two-under par including posting back-to-back birdies on holes 13 and 14 . Fellow teammate,
Emily Baumgart, shot a 75 (+4) on the day, putting both Habgood and Baumgart in a tie for 40th with both scoring a 147 (+5) through two rounds of play.
Marie Lund-Hansen finished in a tie for 47th with a score of 148 (+6), just one stroke behind Baumgart and Habgood. Lund-Hansen carded a 74 (+3) on the day. One stroke behind Lund-Hansen was sophomore
Amy Chu as the second-year golfer struggled on day two with a 78 (+7) after posting an even-par 71 on day one.
Oregon heads into the final round of the tournament at the top of the scoreboard with a team score of 560 (-8) after 36 holes played. Individually, Arizona State's Linn Grant and Arizona's Vivian Hou hit the course for the final 18 holes tied for first at seven-under with a two-round total of 135.
Last round of play begins at  8:30 AM for the Cougars and are paired with UCLA and San Jose State with a shotgun start.
