SAN FRANCISCO – Washington State men's basketball begins a new era under first year head coach Kyle Smith as the Cougar leader along with senior Jeff Pollard and sophomore CJ Elleby head to San Francisco to take part in Pac-12 Media Day, Tuesday, Oct. 8.
The annual event can be followed live throughout the day on the Pac-12 Network along with on the Cougars' and the conference's social media platforms. On social media, Pac-12 Media Day can be tracked using the hashtag #Pac12Hoops. In addition, @WSUCougarMBB, @Pac12 and @Pac12Network will have updates on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook throughout the day.
"Inside Pac-12 Basketball: Men's Media Day" television coverage hosted by Mike Yam on the Pac-12 Network will feature analysis and commentary from Don MacLean, and Ashley Adamson. The action begins on Pac-12 Network and the Pac-12 Now app at 12 p.m. PT / 1 p.m. MT with over three total hours dedicated to highlighting all 12 teams. Each team will be featured in an individual 15-minute segment throughout the day with an all-encompassing recap segment airing at the end of the 12 team shows. The Cougs will be live at 2:30 p.m. (PT).
Each team will take the main stage to answer questions from the media in attendance. There will be a media podium live stream on Twitter at @pac12, the Pac-12 Conference Facebook page, Pac-12.com and the Pac-12 Now app. The Cougars will take the podium at 11:45 a.m.
Along with media day will come the preseason media poll, which will rank the teams from first-to-12th, as voted on by the media. The Cougars will have almost a whole new look in 2019-20 with just five returning players to go along with 12 newcomers including five transfers and seven freshmen. Elleby, who earned all-freshman honors a season ago after rewriting the Cougs' freshmen record book, returns to lead the Cougars on the court.
