Cougs Put up a Pair of Top-25 Finishes in Arizona

Elodie Bridenne and newcomer Darcy Habgood each finished tied for 24th at the Westbrook Invitational.

PEORIA, Ariz. - The Washington State women's golf team finished 13th at the Westbrook Invitational hosted by Wisconsin. The Cougars completed the final day of the two-day event with an 874(+10) overall score; finishing ahead of Iowa and Wisconsin who finished 14th and 15th, respectively 

Junior Elodie Bridenne led the way for the Cougars, finishing the tournament tied for 24th place. The French import carded a one-under, 71, in the final round to boost her overall score to a 217(+1). Freshman Am Chu and junior Marie Lund-Hansen finished the tournament with at 220(+4).

Redshirt-sophomore Emily Baumgart and senior Madison Odiorne each carded a 223(+7) after three rounds. Baumgart, Bridenne, and Odiorne all went one-under on par-3s, while Baumgart went three-under on Par-4s. Baumgart posted the Cougars' best round of the tournament on the final day, shooting a 69.

Individually, freshman Darcy Habgood posted a one-over, 217, through the three rounds to tie for 24th alongside of Bridenne. The freshman played unattached from the Cougars' scoring five in her first collegiate tournament. Her 70 in round two proved to be the second-best round of the tournament for WSU.

Aneka Seumanutafa from Ohio State took home the individual title with a 12-under, 204; while Nebraska won the team title with an 11-under, 853, one stroke ahead of Oklahoma.
