Taylor Mims currently ranks 6th overall in the nation in kills per set with 5.07, 7th in points per set at 5.67, and 7th in attacks per set with 12.93.

Cougars Crack AVCA Coaches Poll
WSU enters the week now ranked 23rd overall in the latest AVCA Division I Coaches Poll. The Cougars downed #17 Northern Iowa on the road twice last week to elevate into the Top 25 after previosly receiving votes. WSU totals 202 total points adjusted from the AVCA in the Week 3 Poll, jumping ahead of Colorado and Marquette.
Martin Named PAC-12 Defensive Player of the Week
Senior
Claire Martin was selected as the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 27-Sept. 2 as was announced by the conference earlier in the week. Match one against UNI featured Martin leading the Cougar blocking attack which came up with 17.0 total blocks. Martin finished the opening match of the weekend with 10 blocks as she moved into No. 2 all-time in career block assists with 403. Saturday, Martin was back to her old tricks once again as she came up with four of the Cougars' 10.0 blocks.
Mims Nearing 1000 Kills
The senior is on the verge of hitting her 1,000 kills as she enters the weekend with 975. Taylor recorded 19 kills, and added 26 in match two against Northern Iowa last week. At the same time she is nearing the Cougars' top-10 with her sights set on Keren Oigman (1994-97) who finished with 1,054 kills in her career.
