Marie Lund-Hansen finished tied for 10th place following the opening two rounds of the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational Monday in Albuquerque, N.M.. Lund-Hansen went two-under par for the day to lead the way for the Cougars, coming in with a 70 in the first round before finishing with an even-par, 72, in the second round. Last season, Lund-Hansen posted 11 rounds of par-or-better, second among all Cougar golfers.

Amy Chu completed their first day of action in 2018 tied for 29th, each having carded a 74 (+2) and 73 (+1) in the first and second rounds, respectively. Freshman
Kenedee Peters completed her first collegiate day of golf just one stroke strokes behind her teammate and in a tie for 38th on the leaderboard. After shaking off a slow start in round one, Peters came back strong the second time around the course, carding a one-under, 71, in the afternoon to post the Cougars' second round of the tournament in the red.Â
As a team, Washington State sits in ninth place following the first two rounds of play. The Cougars finished the day seven-over par at 583, directly ahead of UNLV which posted a 587 (+11). No. 15 Kent State leads the tournament, having gone seven-under par through two rounds with a 569. No. 11 Northwestern is tied for second with a 573(-3).
Individually, Lund-Hansen and the field will try to chase down New Mexico's Darian Zachek who took a two-shot lead into the clubhouse on day one after posting a seven-under, 137, two-round total.
The Cougars tee-off the final round of play in New Mexico Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 6:30 a.m. PT alongside of UC Davis and Iowa.Â
