INDIANAPOLIS – Former Washington State University track and field student-athlete,
Alissa Brooks-Johnson, has been chosen to compete for the United States at the 2018 Thorpe Cup, July 27-28 in Knoxville, Tenn. Â
The Thorpe Cup is an annual competition between the United States and Germany in which decathletes and heptathletes from each country compete for gold. Each year the location in which competition is held alternates between Germany and the United States. There will be seven athletes entered in each discipline.

Brooks-Johnson (Doty, Washington) will be competing in the heptathlon for Team USATF. Â Brooks-Johnson is the 2018 Pac-12 champion in this event and has finished in the top-10 at the NCAA Championships over the past two years.
Brooks-Johnson will be joined on Team USATF by Riley Cooks, Annie Kunz, Nikki Larch-Miller, Allison Reaser, Lindsay Schwartz and Ashtin Zamzow.Â
