What made you want to be a Coug?
I actually have known for a long time that I was going to WSU. From my sister Chanelle's first official school visit where I tagged along with my parents. I really love the campus and the overall atmosphere of being surrounded by so many people who will help me succeed at WSU. I've also heard a lot of great things about the basketball program and to be able to join my sisters Chanelle and Celena once again on the same team is so exciting. We can't wait to do great things together along with our team to help the basketball program be one of the best there is. I come from a big family and basically WSU reminds me of the small town I live in where family is everywhere.
Â
What do you love about basketball?
Ever since I was seven years old, basketball has always been one of my favorite aspects of life. The endless hours, which were well spent, were put into my practice with my club and school team, with my friends, my sisters, or just by myself. I love basketball not just because it's a sport but because it represents so much more. It's my cure and relaxation to help me set aside any worries or troubles, even for a moment, and to focus on just playing my best in a game which brings so much joy and excitement for me.
Â
What do you hope to get out of your time at Washington State?
I hope to get a lot of knowledge from my professors and coaches and add more wonderful lifelong memories with the people around me and the new friends I'll meet along the way. I hope to get connected to those I play with, not only growing closer with teammates but also developing respect for those I play against.
Â
Who inspired you athletically to pursue your collegiate dreams?
My whole family inspired me. With the tremendous love and support I receive from each and everyone of them it made it easier to chase my dreams.
Â
If you weren't playing basketball what would you be doing and why?
I would say playing soccer because I was really good as a forward and soccer was the first sport I played from when I was six years old. I only played until middle school because once I got into high school the sports were held in the same season and I had to choose which one I wanted to play and commit to. So with no doubt I eventually of course picked basketball.
Â
What is something unique/special that only your closest friends know about you?
That I'm the most competitive person among my sisters. I also have the determination to keep moving forward and a great team player who pushes myself and others to get back up and keep playing no matter how bad the score may be or how bad of a game I might have had.
Â
If you could go anywhere or do anything what would it be and why?
Given that I am furthering my education at WSU and having it paid for along with being able to play alongside my siblings in the sport of basketball that I love is a dream come true so I am not sure what else I would want. As for going anywhere I hope to one day travel around the world and see what else is out there.
