WSU Academic Services Announces December Student-Athletes of the Month

Men's basketball's Jeff Pollard and volleyball's McKenna Woodford are December's honorees.
PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State men's basketball's Jeff Pollard and volleyball's McKenna Woodford have been named the Academic Services Student-Athletes of the Month for December 2018.
A junior on the men's basketball team, Pollard (Bountiful, Utah) is majoring in business with an emphasis on management/operations with a minor in communications. He carries a 3.74 grade point average and will graduate in three years. He plans to pursue his master's in business administration during his fourth year of eligibility. He is actively involved in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), PAC and his church. On the court, Pollard has started six of the team's nine games, averaging 2.8 points and 1.9 rebounds a game.Â
A senior on the volleyball team, Woodford (Chandler, Ariz.) concluded her WSU career in style as she helped lead the team to its first Sweet Sixteen appearance since 2002. Along the way she was named All-Pac-12, AVCA Pacific North All-Region Honorable Mention and AVCA All-America Honorable Mention. A general biological sciences major with a chemistry minor, Woodford carries a 3.82 GPA and was named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District 8 team. She was also named Pac-12 All-Academic first team for the third-straight year. She's involved with SAAC and was a 2016 PAC Mentor.Â
Each month Washington State Academic Services will honor a male and female student-athlete that demonstrates commitment to academics while participating in their sport.
