PULLMAN, Wash. – With the regular season completed the next step for the Washington State soccer team is to find out where it slots in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. The team will host a watch party, Monday, Nov. 5 for the NCAA Tournament Selection Show and will open it to all fans interested in joining the team to experience the live broadcast. The watch party will take place in the Camp Room on the second floor of the Athletic Department in Bohler. The show is scheduled to go live at 1:30 p.m.
The Cougars look to return to the postseason for the second-straight season and seventh time in the last eight seasons. Last season the Cougars advanced to the third round of the tournament for the first time in program history having bested #8 UCF, 1-0, in the opening round and #20 Tennessee on penalty kicks in the second round. This season, WSU was the last undefeated and untied team in the country and finished with a 12-5-1 overall record. The Cougs took home a big win over UCLA, 1-0, on the road to begin Pac-12 play and was one of just two teams to draw with undefeated and No. 1 ranked Stanford, 1-1, in double-overtime.
The 2018 DI women's soccer tournament kicks off the weekend of Nov. 9-11. Second and third rounds continue the following weekend from Nov. 16-18. The four national semifinalists will be determined in the quarterfinals on Nov. 23-24.
The Women's College Cup will then be hosted by WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina on Nov. 30 (semifinals) and Dec. 2 (championship game).
