McKenna Woodford Named 2018 Academic All-District

The senior earns the academic selection with her work both on and off the court.
PULLMAN, Wash. - Taking care of business on the court and in the classroom, senior McKenna Woodford was named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® 8 team Thursday as announced by CoSIDA. The all-academic team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Woodford is the first Cougar to earn an academic all-district award since Jackie Albright in 2009.
McKenna has found continued success at WSU, earning first team academic all-district honors after posting a 3.82 GPA in general biological sciences. On the court, the Arizona native has been an offensive force for the Cougars in 2018, leading the program in total kills (356), attacks (986), and ranking second for WSU in kills per set at 3.49. Woodford as continued to climb the all-time ranks for Washington State Volleyball as she currently ranks ninth overall in career kills with 1,177, and fifth overall in total points scored with 1,352.0 currently. She has helped lead the Cougars to a No. 18 nationally ranking in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll, and an 8-1 over record inside Bohler Gym as aided in WSU coming in at No. 11 in overall NCAA RPI.
As a first team honoree, Woodford is now eligible for Google Cloud Academic All-America®. First-, second- and third-team (if necessary). Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
