PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State defeated Wyoming 41-19 in Laramie Saturday afternoon. Below are postgame notes and a couple social media posts.

GAME NOTES 
•      WSU lost the toss, Wyoming deferred, WSU chose to receive
•      Kyle Sweet and Peyton Pelluer served as the game captains, ending Jamal Morrow's 35-game streak as team captain
•      Attendance: 24,141
 
TEAM NOTES
•      WSU won its first road season opener since 2004 at New Mexico, snapping a seven-game skid when opening the season on the road
•      18 players made their WSU debuts including 10 who made their first career start
 
PLAYER NOTES
•      Six players made their first career starts as Cougs on offense; Easop Winston Jr. (Z), Travell Harris (H), Liam Rian (LG), Josh Watson (RG), Abraham Lucas (RT), Gardner Minshew II (QB)
•      Four players made third first career starts on defense; Nick Begg (DT), Taylor Comfort (NT), Dominick Silvels (RUSH), Skyler Thomas (FS)
•      Blake Mazza connected on his first two field goal attempts, hitting from 24 and 41 yards
•      James Williams caught 10 passes, fifth career game with 10+ receptions, had a rushing TD and receiving TD
•      Jamire Calvin matched a career high with five receptions, set a career-high with 82 receiving yards
•      Max Borghi and Easop Winston Jr. each caught their first career touchdowns, Borghi also rushed for another
•      Marcus Strong recorded his second career interception
•      Skyler Thomas made his first career start, made team-high nine tackles
•      Dominick Silvels made his first career start, made six tackles including two for loss and his first career sack
•      Peyton Pelluer made four tackles, upping his career total to 258, needs 47 more to break into WSU Top-10 for tackles
•      Willie Taylor III and Will Rodgers III each recorded their first career sacks
