SAN FRANCISCO - Closing out his collegiate career, senior Zach Anderson picked up a final award from the Pac-12 Conference as the fourth year Cougar was named an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention as released by the conference office Thursday afternoon. The all-conference team was voted on by the 12 Pac-12 head coaches with 16 golfers split between first and second team while six golfers earned honorable mention status. Anderson's selection to the all-conference team was the first of his career and the first for the Cougars since 2014 when Blake Snyder garnered honorable mention honors following a fourth place finish at the Pac-12 Championships.
In his final collegiate tournament, Anderson was at his best, posting an eighth place finish at the Pac-12 Championships on the strength of a nine-under, 275, over four rounds. His nine-under score marked the best-ever finish for the British Columbia native. Over three days, Anderson tore up the course at the Rolling Hills Country Club with three rounds under-par including a 65 (-6) in round three, one off of his career-best round of 64 at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships. Thanks to Anderson's top-10 finish, the Cougars tied for their best-ever finish at the Pac-12 Championships as the team ended the tournament in seventh place overall with a four-round total of eight-under, 1412.
Throughout the season, Anderson played in eight tournaments for the Cougars posting a 73.52 stroke average. In all, he recorded nine rounds of par or better while posting four rounds in the 60s including two at the Pac-12 Championships.
