NORFOLK, Va. – The Washington State swimming team has been recognized as a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team for the fifth straight semester. To earn the honor, a team must post a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the semester.
In his seventh year as head coach, Tom Jager has seen the Cougars the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team award ten times. Under his leadership. WSU earned a 3.26 team GPA last semester to earn the award, fifth-highest in the Pac-12. During the fall semester, 14 swimmers posted a 3.00 GPA or higher, including two athletes with a perfect 4.00. Junior Ciera Kelly and Freshman Emily Cook each earned a 4.00 during the Fall 2017 semester.
Founded in 1922, CSCAA – the oldest organization of college coaches in America – is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
The Cougars return to the pool Saturday, Feb. 10 at Utah. The meet begins at 10 a.m.
