- The Cougs improved their shutout streak to two games and 200 minutes after the double-overtime shutout of #19 Minnesota a week prior to begin the season. (WSU also shutout Colorado State in exhibition action)
- Ella Dederick recorded her ninth career shutout, moving her into ninth all-time in WSU history. It was the second time in her career she recorded back-to-back shutouts and first time since her freshman season when she shutout Utah, 1-0, and Colorado, 3-0.
- Maddy Haro's goal was her first since her freshman season when she scored a pair of goals from the midfield.
- The penalty goal was the first for the Cougs since the 2015 season, both by Kailiana Johnson and both were game-winners, the last coming against Oregon in a 2-1 win on Oct. 15, 2015.
- The win for the Cougs was their first over the Gaels in five contests, moving to 1-2-2 overall. The match was the first between the two schools since the 2001 season.
