Alivia Brown recorded her third top-5 finish of the season and Washington State women's golf grabbed its fourth, as the Cougars shot 11-over par (875) over three rounds to place third in a field featuring four top-25 teams, Wednesday, at the 32nd Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, Tuesday, at Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course.

A late surge by No. 19 Oklahoma State slid the Cowgirls into second place, one stroke ahead of Washington State at 10-over par (874). OSU shot 1-over par on the day, moving up from third where it stood after the first two rounds. No. 18 Texas A&M remained in control Wednesday, to capture the tournament championships shooting 5-under par (859). Idaho shot its best round in the third to finish 13-over par (877) to finish one spot behind WSU in fourth, followed by No. 24 Texas in fifth at 16-over par (880). No. 21 NC State finished sixth with a three-round score of 19-over par (883). WSU shot 11-over par in the third round.
The Cougar's 10-over par score ties for WSU's seventh-lowest 54-hole score relative to par. Their top-5 finish is the Cougars' fourth of the season and marks the second time this season they finished in the top 3.
Brown captured her third top-5 finish of the season and fourth of her career as she tied for third having shot 4-under par (212) over three rounds. She carded 4 birdies on the day for a total of 11 over the three rounds. Texas A&M's Maddie Szeryk, the 11th-ranked player in the country, shot a tournament-record 9-under par (207) to capture the individual championship. Competing as an individual, the seventh-ranked player, Jennifer Kupcho of Wake Forest, shot 5-under par (211) for second. Ranked 36th, SMU's Lindsey McCurdy shot 2-under par in the final round to tie Brown for third.
Three other Cougars finished in the top-26, as senior
Cherokee Kim shot 4-over par (220) over three rounds to finish tied for 20th. Freshman
Marie Lund-Hansen was one stroke behind Kim at 5-over par (221) to tie for 23rd. Sophomore
Madison Odiorne moved up three spots to 26th with a three-round score of 6-over par (222).
Junior
Bree Wanderscheid shot 13-over par (229) to tie for 55th. Competing as individuals, freshman
Elodie Bridenne (+16, 232) finished tied for 62nd, while junior
Jamie Midkiff (+26, 242) tied for 85th.
The Cougars return to the green next Monday through Wednesday, as they compete at SDSU's March Mayhem at Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., March 20-22.
