Cougs Come Home to Face Idaho State Friday

WSU plays for just the second-time at home when the Cougs host the Bengals.

MATCHUP NOTES
The Cougs come back to Beasley for just the second-time this season to tip-off a three-game homestand beginning with Idaho State Friday night. WSU and Idaho State have played six times all-time with the Cougs leading the series 4-2 including winning the last three matchups. The most recent meeting came in 2014 in Pullman in a game the Cougs dominated 84-34. In the game, WSU started the contest on a 40-0 run and forced 30 turnovers while holding Idaho State to just 20.0% shooting. The 50-point margin of victory is the third-largest win in WSU program history. 

LAST TIME OUT
Washington State finished play at the Gulf Coast Showcase at 2-1 in Florida with wins over East Tennessee State (80-76) and Rutgers (63-60) and their lone loss coming against #17 South Florida (82-45). Shaking off their rough start with the loss to the Bulls, the Cougs ended with their two victories, coming from behind including a 14-point comeback against the Scarlet Knights, tying for their fourth largest comeback in program history. All three games for the Cougs were their first-ever contests against their respective opponents.Leading the way in Florida was Borislava Hristova as the sophomore scorer finished averaging 15.0 points per game while Alexys Swedlund added 11.7 points per game off the bench in just 19.7 minutes per contest. 

ABOUT THE BENGALS
This season, the Bengals are off to a hot start, tying a program record with a 5-1 record that includes a win over Washington in Seattle. The Bengals are averaging 76.3 points per game and have done a bulk of their damage from deep hitting 47.6 % from behind the arc, third best in the nation. Brooke Blair leads the way at 15.8 points per game while averaging 2.3 rebounds per game.
