KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Washington State women's soccer team has earned the Team Academic Award from the United Soccer Coaches (USC) for the 2016-17 academic year for their work in the classroom. A total of 813 collegiate teams (282 men, 531 women) earned the Team Academic Award, including 195 schools who had both their men's and women's programs among the recipients.
Last season, the Cougs finished the year with a 3.19 GPA to join nine other Pac-12 institutions to earn the award.
USC annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full school year. College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point of average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.
United Soccer Coaches, formerly the NSCAA, was founded in 1941 and is the largest community for soccer coaches in the world. We unite coaches of all levels around the love of the game and we elevate the game through advocacy, education and service.Â
