Get To Know (Goff)Get To Know (Goff)
Get to know the Cougars' incoming freshmen before they put on the Crimson and Gray next season. This week's future Coug loves competing with her team and the feeling of triumph soccer brings to her life. We get to know a little more about Hanna Goff from Glendora, Calif.

What do you love about soccer?
What I love most about soccer is the competition; I love competing with my team and the feeling of triumph. I also love the many different aspects within soccer such as the physical challenges and mental challenges. Also, the game is constantly moving, you have to be engaged every minute and cannot stop focus for one second or you could miss your opportunity. Lastly, I love that soccer is a team sport because of the friendships that occur on teams.

What made you want to be a Coug?
I wanted to be a Coug because of the atmosphere I felt when visiting the school in addition to the amazing soccer program there. Washington State felt like home when visiting, I felt comfortable and excited about my possible future there.  The soccer program is also one of the top programs in the country and I knew the amazing coaching staff paired with the Pac-12 competition would elevate my game playing.

What do you hope to get out of your time at Washington State?
I hope to get my bachelor's degree from Washington State, although I am not entirely sure what I would like to major in, either business or somewhere in the medical field. I also hope to compete in the Pac-12 and earn a league title while playing there within my four years.

Who inspired you athletically to pursue your collegiate dreams?
My own desire propelled me to push myself to play collegiate soccer, as well as my parents, Coach Jim Wain and Josh Hodges belief in me. I would be nowhere near where I am right now without the unconditional love and support of my parents throughout the ups and downs of my career. Also, once I joined Legend's Soccer club the natural progression of competition encouraged me to pursue collegiate soccer. Josh constantly created high level environments to compete in and provided extensive exposure which helped me reach this level. Also, my former club coach Jim Wain encouraged me when I no longer felt the passion and desire I once had. He helped show me my potential, which ultimately lead me to wanting to continue to grow in college soccer.
