Get to know the Cougars' incoming freshmen before they put on the Crimson and Gray next season. This week's future Coug has Cougar blood coursing through her veins. We get to know a little more about Sarah Davidson from Camas, Wash.
What made you want to be a Coug?
I have family friends that I have grown up with that bleed the Cougar blood. Ever since I was three we would all go to the "Coug Cabin" for family trips. It was meant to be for me to become a Coug. I love the people that are involved with the team. Everyone has one goal which is to win and I really enjoy the competitive environment. The team seems like a family, not just individuals playing for themselves.
What do you hope to get out of your time at Washington State?
I hope to (I will) get that Pac-12 Championship. I will become the best soccer player I can be while making lifelong friends along the way.
What do you love about soccer?
I love that soccer is my get away. No matter what has happened in my day, good or bad, I get to go onto the field and forget about the day and be in my own world with the people I love being around. It is always fun to work hard and strive to become better than I was at the beginning of training or practice.

Who inspired you athletically to pursue your collegiate dreams?
I've grown up watching my two favorite soccer players that both came from University of Portland. Keelin Winters and Eli Reed have been like older sisters to me since they were sophomores in college. They would train my brother and me between trainings and classes. In the hour I got with them they demonstrated what hard work was and how much a person could love the game of soccer. Their passion made my love for the game stronger. They both graduated and continued their soccer careers playing professionally. Even though Keelin is now retired, Eli now trains me each week in preparation for going off to college.
