PHOENIX - Washington State University men's basketball senior Josh Hawkinson finished with 6 points and 6 rebounds for the West All-Stars as they fell to the East All-Stars, 121-90, Friday at the 2017 Reese's® Division I College All-Star Game on Reese's Final Four Friday®, March 31, at University of Phoenix Stadium.
Hawkinson, who started at center, had 4 of his 6 points and 4 of his 6 rebounds in the second half. He was 3-for-8 from the field and added 1 assist. The West team was led by Deonte Burton of Iowa State with 15 points. Kentucky's Derek Willis added 13 points and 8 rebounds, while SMU's Sterling Brown finished with 11 points. The only other Pac-12 student-athlete in the game, UCLA's Bryce Alford, finished with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists.
The East All-Stars were led by five players in double-figures and two with 20 or point points, as Tim Kempton of Lehigh, but local to the game, as he hails from Scottsdale, Ariz., led the way with 21 points. Davidson's Jack Gibbs had 20 points, while George Washington's Tyler Cavanaugh had a double-double with 19 points and 14 boards.
The annual game is put on by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and features some of the nation's outstanding seniors in NCAA Division I.
