WOLCOTT, Colo. – The Washington State women's golf team tied for fourth and junior
Alivia Brown finished second at the Golfweek Conference Challenge, Wednesday, at Red Sky Golf Club.
The Cougars tied with Old Dominion and No. 22 Tennessee (+17, 881). The team improved by six strokes, shooting 1-under par (287) in the third round, the team's lowest score of the tournament. WSU finished 15 strokes behind tournament-champion San Diego State (+2, 866) and seven strokes behind second-place finishers Denver and Pepperdine.
In the best performance of her career, junior
Alivia Brown finished second, shooting 6-under par with an overall score of 210. Brown shot 4-under par with five birdies in the third round.
Sophomore
Madison Odiorne moved up 10 spots on the leaderboard after shooting 1-under par in the final round. Odiorne tied for 37th with a three-round score of 224 (+8).Â
Senior
Cherokee Kim and freshman
Marie Lund-Hansen tied for 42nd place with an overall score of 225 (+9). The duo carded eight birdies in the third round.
Junior
Bree Wanderscheid tied for 67th place (+16, 232).
The women's golf team returns to the green for the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, Oct. 10-11, at Tacoma Country and Golf Club.
