Luke Falk Named Semifinalist For Maxwell Award

Falk is one for 18 semifinalists for the College Football Player of the Year Award.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Washington State quarterback Luke Falk is a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award, the Maxwell Football Club announced Monday. The Maxwell Award is given to America's College Player of the Year.
 
Falk, one for 18 semifinalists, is second in the country in passing yards-per-game (3.65.8), sixth in total offense (358.0), eighth in passing touchdowns (24) and owns a national-best 72.6 completion percentage. The redshirt-junior has led the No. 25 ranked Cougars (6-2) to six straight wins including a 5-0 start to Pac-12 Conference play and has tallied three 300-yard games and three 400-yard performances.
 
The Maxwell Award, named in honor of Robert W. "Tiny" Maxwell, has been given to America's College Player of the Year since 1937. Maxwell's contributions to the game of football were extensive, including time as a player, a sportswriter and an official.
 
Three finalists will be unveiled November 21, 2016. The winners of the 2016 Maxwell Award will be announced as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards Show held on December 8, 2016. The formal presentations of the award will be made at the Maxwell Football Club Awards Gala hosted by Tropicana Hotel & Casino Atlantic City on March 10, 2017.
