PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University Director of Athletics Bill Moos has announced that the Cougars have agreed to a home-and-home football series with Utah State University, beginning in 2020.

The first game is scheduled to be played in Logan, Utah, Sept. 5, 2020, with the return contest Sept. 4, 2021 in Martin Stadium.

"One of our scheduling philosophies includes efforts to face quality regional competition, and Utah State certainly fits that model," said Moos. "Having announced Kansas State earlier this summer, along with prior agreements with Boise State and BYU, our fans should be excited about our future nonconference schedules."

The 2020 game will mark the first time the two teams have faced each other since 1961, when the Cougars fell to Utah State, 34-14, in Spokane. The Cougars captured the first two meetings in the series, a 33-0 victory in Pullman, Sept. 17, 1949, and a 46-6 win in Logan, Sept. 23, 1950.
