PULLMAN, Wash. -- Three members of Washington State men's golf finished in the top 10 of the Washington State Men's Amateur Championship earlier this month.
Junior Derek Bayley finished second (-6, 210) in the tournament at Tacoma Country & Golf Club after a six playoff-hole matchup against Chase Carlson of Puyallup, Wash. After matching scores for the first five playoff holes, Bayley's five-foot birdie attempt lipped out and sealed a second place finish to Carlson.
Sophomore Aaron Whalen and Senior Nick Mandell tied for seventh in the competition at 2-under par (214).
The men's golf team will compete in its final home appearance at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate at Palouse Ridge Golf Course Sept. 12-13.
