Milan Vucinic Joins Cougar Volleyball as Volunteer Coach

Milan Vucinic, highly-respected coach from Serbia, has joined the WSU Volleyball program as a volunteer coach.

PULLMAN, Wash. - Milan Vucinic, a highly-respected volleyball coach and strength and conditioning coach from Novi Sad, Serbia, has joined the Washington State volleyball program as a volunteer coach, Cougars Head Coach Jen Greeny announced today.
 
"We are thrilled to have Milan as an addition to our staff," Greeny said. "He brings a wealth of international experience and knowledge to the WSU Volleyball program."
 
Milan Vucinic (pronounced me-lawn vu-chin-ich), 35, will work closely with Greeny, assistant coaches Burdette Greeny and Shannon Hunt, and the 16 members of the Cougars' 2016 squad.
 
Vucinic received his bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Teaching and Coaching from the University of Novi Sad, and earned his Master's degree in Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy from the Association of Centers for Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Studies and Research (ACIMSI).
 
He served as an assistant coach for the Serbian Volleyball Federation national U23 and U21 teams. He also coached the men's professional volleyball club team, Vojvodina NS-Seme and two of his players were members of the 2016 FIVB World League Championship team from Serbia: Drazen Luburic (Opp) and Milan Katic (OH). He coached the professional women's club team, Pionir-Petrol.
 
"(Milan's) extensive knowledge and experience that he showed on many occasions, from the time that he closely followed the Men's Senior and Junior National Teams, as well as various clubs, had a great impact on the Team and its performance," said Aleksandar Boricic, President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia. "His qualities reflected in numerous results achieved by the Teams, like the CEV Challenge Cups, U23 World silver medal, and other national and regional medals and accomplishments, to mention only the most important ones."
 
Vucinic participated in the 2015 International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program, provided by the U.S. Olympic Committee and the University of Delaware. The mission of the ICECP is to provide national level coaches with a practical program orientated toward development of the sport national coaching structures in their countries. He also completed the IMPACT US course, provided by USA Volleyball, and is a certified Power-Plate and TRX fitness instructor.
