PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State women's soccer team will play four matches during its 2016 spring season, including one in Pullman this March, WSU Head Coach Todd Shulenberger announced Tuesday.
WSU will open its 2016 spring season against Eastern Washington, Saturday, March 5. The Cougars will host the Eagles at 1 p.m. at WSU's Lower Soccer Field. The match will be the Cougars' lone home match of the spring season. The two sides are familiar with each other, having played an exhibition match at the start of the 2015 season, a 3-1 result in favor of the Cougars.
After spring break, Washington State will travel to Portland for its second match of the month. The Cougars will face the Portland Pilots at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 26. During the 2015 season, the Pilots handed WSU its lone road loss of the season, a 2-0 defeat in September.
The Cougars will conclude their spring season with a pair of matches in April. WSU will travel north of the border Saturday, April 9, to face Trinity Western in Surrey, British Columbia. Kickoff is schedule for 3 p.m. WSU will have a short respite before facing the semi-pro Seattle Sounders Women of the USL's W-League. The Cougars and Sounders will meet at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 16 at Liberty High School (Renton, Wash.).
