PULLMAN, Wash. – Freshman Borislava Hristova of the Washington State women's basketball team was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, the conference released Monday, Nov. 23.
Hristova has led the Cougars to an unblemished 4-0 record this season, averaging 18.5 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game. The Varna, Bulgaria native was named the 2015 Bank of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine Classic MVP after leading the Cougars to wins over Nevada and Hawai`i this past weekend.
Hristova scored a career-high 23 points against Nevada Friday, Nov. 20, and has scored in double figures all four games this season. The true freshman is shooting over 50 percent from the floor, having made 30-of-52 (.577) shots and 7-of-14 (.500) from beyond the arc.
The honor marks the first-career for Hristova and the first honor of the season for the Cougars.
WSU will return to Pullman for Thanksgiving Break to host San Jose State in a matchup on Black Friday, Nov. 27. The Cougars and Spartans will tip off at 7 p.m. inside Beasley Coliseum.
