Women?s Golf Tied for Third After First Round

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – The Washington State University women's golf team is tied for third, just three strokes out of first, after one round of play at the Ron Moore Invitational, Friday, at Highlands Ranch Golf Course.

The Cougars shot 3-under par (285) and are tied with Little Rock in the field of 18 teams. Denver and San Francisco are tied for first with a score of 282 (-6).

Junior Cherokee Kim is tied for fourth at 5-under (67), two strokes behind leader Ayaka Suzuki of San Francisco's Ayaka Suzuki. Kim carded six of the team's 14 birdies on the day, and made only one bogey.

With a score of 71 (-1), sophomore Alivia Brown is tied for 13th with six other golfers. Senior Nani Yanagi is tied for 20th after shooting even par through the first round.

Sophomore Bree Wanderscheid and senior Monica Huang are tied for 52nd at 3-over (75).
