KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Washington State University men's basketball rising-senior, Junior Longrus, has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, recognizing those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2014-15 season, the organization announced Thursday.
A native of Oakland, Calif., Longrus will enter his senior season in 2015-16, majoring in management operations. He currently has a 3.31 grade point average and is a two-time Pac-12 Conference second team all-academic honoree. This past season he played all 31 games for the Cougars, starting 11. He averaged 1.5 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents of gifts that student-athletes possess off the court, and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom. In order to be named to the Honors court, an athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria, which includes; was academically a junior or senior in 2014-15, carried a 3.2 or higher grade points average, and must have been at their current NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA institution for at least one year.
