PULLMAN, Wash. – Former Washington State University men's basketball forward, Brock Motum is competing in the 2015 NBA Summer League for the third-straight year and for the second-straight year is playing with the Utah Jazz. After competing in the Utah Jazz Summer League, Motum and the Jazz are currently competing in the 2015 Las Vegas NBA Summer League.
After going 3-0 in the Utah Jazz Summer League, the Jazz are currently 1-3 in the Las Vegas league, as the team is battling several injuries. The Jazz fell in its first game of the tournament, 86-78, against Washington and will next face the Lakers in the Consolation Round, Friday, July 17 at 3 p.m.
So far in the Las Vegas Summer League, Motum is averaging 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in 17.8 minutes of action an outing. He scored 12 points in Utah's lone win of the league, 91-82, over the Minnesota Timberwolves, adding 6 rebounds. In the team's last outing, Motum notched 11 points in 20 minutes.
Motum ranks sixth in WSU's career record books with 1,530 points scored in four seasons (2010-13). He led the Cougars and the Pac-12 in scoring two-straight seasons with 18.0 points per game in 2011-12 and 18.7 ppg in 2012-13. At the conclusion of the 2012 season, he was named the league's most improved player while earning first team all-conference honors. He was named All-Pac-12 Second Team in 2013.
